What makes a humble heart?

Morning Glory,

I was happy when you woke up early this morning and wanted me to come out and do scripture study with you. We had breakfast together (homemade butternut squash muffins with pecan butter --you especially enjoyed seeing how I made the pecan butter) and while eating I handed you a paper with two hearts on it one was labeled "pride " and the other labeled "humility" You wrote in your ideas of examples of how someone could be either prideful or humble in their hearts. I enjoyed seeing your ideas:
Proud: head up; not nice to people; fine rich clothes; nice food;
nice house; fine goods; boasting to the poor.
Humble: nice to people; share it's home; help each other; go to church
Then we talked about how just having nice things isn't the problem but it is a problem if our hearts are set on them. (I got this idea yesterday when studying the  Book of Mormon Sunday School Teacher's Manual for Lesson 22)

You also chose to watch Living Scriptures "Alma and the Zoramites" and I was very excited about that because that was also one of my own goals to do with you. It is nice when we are on the same page. I want to treasure those special moments to open again in my memory at times when we are having a harder time working together.

While we watched, we realized that faith is another thing that would be good to put inside the humble heart. After watching, we were interested to find out what activities were in the special features and we did two different quizes about what happened in the show.

Thanks for gttomg me up for scripture time today!

Love,
Mom
